Wherever they come from, the key is to have doses of the vaccine.

Senegal has put an option on five anti-Covid-19 vaccines available in the world.

The revelation was made by Professor Tandakha Ndiaye Dieye, immunologist, member of the expert group of the Advisory Committee for Vaccination in Senegal who announces that “

the vaccine race

” has already started.

The situation is urgent

These are Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Astra Zeneca, Sputnik V and Sinopharm vaccines approved by scientists.

The big equation remains the availability of doses.

Senegal,

pressed by the situation

, will initially, between the end of February and the beginning of March, receive 1.2 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine

thanks to the Covax initiative

of the World Health Organization and 200,000 others from the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm already in the circuit.

3.5 million people, or 20% of its population, are targeted as the first beneficiaries.

An awareness campaign will accompany the operations.
