Schiffweiler (dpa / lrs) - According to the police, a roof fire in Schiffweiler (Neunkirchen district) resulted in damage of around 150,000 euros.
The house was in danger of collapsing, the police said on Sunday.
No one was injured in the fire on Saturday evening.
The Saarland radio had previously reported about it.
The residents of the three-story house in the Heiligenwald district became aware of the fire thanks to a fire alarm and left the property independently.
According to initial findings, the fire broke out in the roof structure that had been converted into a living area.
The police said that the cause was assumed to be a technical defect.
Fire investigators from the State Criminal Police Office should investigate the incident in the coming days.
