Two alleged accomplices of Carlos Ghosn could soon be heard by Japanese justice.

The US Supreme Court paved the way on Saturday February 13 for the extradition of two men.

They are accused of helping the businessman and former boss of the Renault-Nissan group, Carlos Ghosn, to flee justice in 2019.

Court judge Stephen Breyer has dismissed an appeal filed by lawyers for Michael Taylor, a former member of the US special forces, and his son Peter, to block this extradition authorized by a lower court.

Lawyers argued that the two men risked endless interrogation and torture in Japan.

The former "green beret" and his son are accused of having contributed to the incredible escape of Carlos Ghosn, while the latter was under house arrest in Tokyo pending trial for financial embezzlement.
