Leicester (AP) - Three days before the Champions League match against RB Leipzig, the crisis at English soccer champions FC Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp worsened with the next defeat in the Premier League.

At Leicester City, the Reds lost a lead on Saturday and lost in the end with 1: 3 (0: 0).

It was the third league bankruptcy in a row for Liverpool and a major setback in the race for the Champions League places.

James Maddison (78th minute) with a free kick and Jamie Vardy (81st) turned the game at King Power Stadium for the hosts.

Harvey Barnes (85th) made the decision shortly before the end.

Mohamed Salah (67.) had previously shot the Reds in the 300th Klopp game as Liverpool coach.

Just before half-time, the Reds had been lucky because Vardy had shot the ball on the crossbar.

The guests also had to complain about injuries again.

James Milner had to be replaced early on in the game.

Ex-Bayern professional Thiago came for him.

Liverpool's new signing Ozan Kabak, who came from FC Schalke in winter, made his debut in Leicester because the ailing Fabinho was not available.

Madisson's goal was initially whistled because of an alleged offside position, but according to video evidence it counted.

At Vardy's goal, Liverpool keeper Alisson, who had two serious blunders in the 4-1 home defeat against Manchester City last week, did not look good again.

The keeper had run too far out of the gate and apparently had not discussed it with Kabak.

Leicester City, which is coached by former Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers, distanced Liverpool on six points.

The stumbling Reds will have to play their first leg of the first knockout round on Tuesday.

The game against RB does not take place in Leipzig, but has been moved to Budapest.

The reason is the British travel restrictions due to the corona pandemic.
