Dresden (dpa / sn) - Germany has faced its Nazi past, according to a statement by Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU).

"We have relentlessly worked up and drawn conclusions from the crimes committed during the Nazi era and what guilt we Germans have for them," he said on Saturday at a small celebration to commemorate the destruction of the city on February 13th 1945.

Germany enjoys unshakable trust all over the world.

The state capital also benefits from foreign entrepreneurs, investors, scientists and tourists.

"That was, is and will only be possible if it is still perfectly clear where this country stands, where the vast majority of Germans stand when it comes to equality, justice, the fight against anti-Semitism and racism."

And Dresden also made it clear again and again on this anniversary, "It is a cosmopolitan city, decent people live here, you feel good here".
