Grevesmühlen (dpa / lmv) - After the fire in a semi-detached house in Grevesmühlen (Northwest Mecklenburg district), a dead person was discovered.

It was still unclear whether it was one of the three double house residents.

As the police announced on Saturday evening, a resident was taken out of the house unharmed - and at least one other resident was known to have left the house at the time of the fire.

The fire spread completely on Saturday morning in the two-story building half, as it was called.

The cause of the fire is still unclear.

The damage to property is estimated at around 200,000 euros.

Both halves of the house are currently no longer habitable.

The police and fire brigade were alerted at around 11 a.m. - the fire fighting work reportedly continued until around 4 p.m.

The criminal police have started investigations into the identification of the dead person and the cause of the fire.
