- Yes, it is quite obvious that in several different areas more government control is needed, says Anders W Jonsson, who is the health care policy spokesperson for the Center Party.

All other parties' healthcare policy spokespersons are in the same line;

that we need more national control and coordination.

SVT Nyheter has contacted all parliamentary parties and all answer "yes" to the question of whether there is a need for increased state control of health care and elderly care in our country.

However, there are different nuances in how far the parties want to go and in what way.

KD: completely nationalized

The Christian Democrats belong to the party that wants to go the furthest and completely national health care.

It is still unclear how it will go and where the boundaries will go between national and local responsibility.

But the motive is clear:

- We need equal health and medical care and when we have a division into 21 different regions, there will be variations, says the Christian Democrats' health care policy spokesperson Acko Ankarberg Johansson.

Equal care

The need for more equal care and care for the elderly around the country is signed by all parties and this is also the main reason why they call for more national coordination of health care.

The pandemic has involved a rarely seen effort for care and elderly care, and although it may not be the best example of inequalities around the country, it has nevertheless raised the question of how care and elderly care are organized.

- When the pandemic is over, we will all sit down and discuss how to make this more functional.

We will have different inputs, but the important thing is that the resources are also linked up so that it is not just a new governance and still "same business", says Karin Rågsjö, health care policy spokesperson for the Left Party.
