They had the fear of their lives.

On Wednesday evening, a game warden from the town of Goyrans, south of Toulouse, and three members of the approved municipal hunting association (ACCA) were targeted by shots from poachers while they were taking samples of 'animals in this territory.

It was around 10 p.m., when they were finishing their checking operation, that one or two shooters aimed at them, after having passed near their car.

No one was injured but the bullets pierced the windshield and rearview mirror of their vehicle.

Two people heard on Thursday

After taking the first shots, they see a light on a nearby farm.

Two more shots fired in their direction.

Despite the fear, the game warden decides to go see the farmer he thinks is responsible for these shots.

The latter, alcoholic, admitted the facts, which amounted to an attempted murder.

It seems that this farmer practices poaching at night and does not agree to be disturbed in this illegal activity.

“We were targeted,” says Jean-Claude Marfaing, president of ACCA de Goyrans.

We are now awaiting the investigation to find out why we were targeted ”.

The four victims filed a complaint on Thursday to the community of Castenet brigades.

Thursday, two people were heard and their homes searched by the search brigade of the company of Villefranche de Laurageais.

They were released Thursday evening.
