Sondershausen (dpa / th) - A 70-year-old and a 65-year-old were injured in a fire in the Thuringian Kyffhäuserkreis.

A fire broke out in the cellar of the house in Sondershausen on Friday night, as the police announced on Friday.

The two injured were woken up by a continuous ringing.

According to the police, it is suspected that a technical defect was the reason for the fire in the basement and that a burnt cable triggered the doorbell.

The 70-year-old first tried to put out the fire himself.

He got smoke poisoning.

The man and his 63-year-old wife, who was in shock, were taken to the hospital.
