A car stops, its occupants get out and assault a fellow, before stripping him.

The same scenario was repeated an hour apart, on the night from Friday to Saturday in Toulouse.

It was first a 22-year-old man, sitting on a bench in the Arcs-Saint-Cyprien sector, who was the victim of these acts, around 1 a.m.

After asking him for a cigarette, his attackers hit him while he was on the ground, including kicking in the head which led him to the emergency room of the CHU.

They stole his wallet, and tried to use his bank card.

Already known to the police

Another young man, aged 18, was then attacked around 2 a.m. in the Izards district, as he was walking on the sidewalk, phoning in his ear.

After trying to escape, he was caught, hit, and had his cell phone and wallet stolen.

Investigators from the criminal brigade for the repression of attacks on persons (BCrap) of the departmental security have made the connection between the two cases.

Their investigation resulted in the arrest of three men on Tuesday early in the morning, around 6 a.m.: two 19-year-old Toulouse residents and a 23-year-old from the outskirts, all of whom were already known to the police.

Tried Thursday in immediate appearance, they were sentenced to terms ranging from 12 to 18 months in prison.
