Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The attack on a prostitute in Neuss is being heard in Düsseldorf before the regional court today.

A 51-year-old is charged with dangerous bodily harm.

However, the court has already indicated that the man is facing a conviction for attempted murder.

Because the prostitute is said to have slept during the attack, the murder characteristic of maliciousness could be fulfilled.

The man has already been sentenced to ten years in prison for killing a prostitute in a hotel in Düsseldorf.

After his release from prison, he is said to have attacked and seriously injured a call girl again in a hotel in Neuss.

At the beginning of July last year, he is said to have pressed a pillow in the face of a 26-year-old, strangled her and jerked her head to break her neck.

He later reported himself to the police, claiming that he had had an argument with his girlfriend.

When the alleged victim also testified and he was arrested, he remained silent about the allegations.

The public prosecutor wants to secure preventive detention for the alleged repeat offender.
