President Moon said, "It is also a day of family community where family and relatives come together to leave the old year, wish each other for the new year, and share virtues. I would like to express my condolences to the people who have not been able to visit.
He said, "I would like to express my encouragement and thanks to the quarantine staff and medical staff who will be struggling with quarantine during the New Year holidays," he said. "In the New Year, I sincerely hope that I can take off my mask and do business with my heart."
Mrs. Kim Jung-suk also said, "I want to give my heart of appreciation to all the people when I think about the past year," and "I wish you peace on the morning of New Year's Day."
The video for about 3 minutes and 30 seconds includes a scene of President Moon and his family with his dog Maru, and recording a New Year's greeting video on a mobile phone in Sangchunjae, the Blue House.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, President Moon is scheduled to stay at the official residence in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province.
It is known that family gatherings will not be held in order to comply with the rule of'No more than 5 people'.
