Berlin (dpa / bb) - After an apartment fire in Berlin-Oberschöneweide with a dead person, the body should be autopsied, according to the police.
The cause of death was initially unclear on Friday, as a police spokesman said.
It will be checked whether the dead person is the 68-year-old tenant of the apartment.
The dead man was found on Thursday afternoon in a mezzanine apartment of a multi-storey apartment building.
Furniture was on fire.
A neighbor smelled the fire and called the fire department.
The police are now investigating the cause of the fire.
