Oberhof (dpa) - The organizers of the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof have reacted with great satisfaction to the publication of the preliminary calendar of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) until 2026.
Including the world championships from February 6 to 17, 2023, there will also be major events in the Thuringian Forest for the next five years.
“This is a very good signal for the sporting state of Thuringia and it is a reward for a lot of effort and a lot of investments in improving the biathlon competition facilities in recent years.
Thuringia will present itself as a good host country for this attractive and exciting sport every year until 2026, ”said Thuringia's Minister of Sports Helmut Holter on Friday.
In addition to the World Cup, the IBU won the Oberhof World Cup on Thursday, 2022 (January 3rd to 9th), 2024 (January 1st to 7th), 2025 (January 6th to 12th) and 2026 (January 5th to 9th) January 11).
