Schwerin (dpa / mv) - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a step-by-step plan for the opening of kindergartens and crèches and day care will apply from February 22nd.

According to this, facilities in counties and urban districts with a seven-day incidence of 50 and below can then return to so-called regular operation under pandemic conditions.

“That means that all children can come back to the facilities without restriction.

The protective measures are still high, ”said Social Affairs Minister Stefanie Drese (SPD) after the MV summit in Schwerin.

On Friday, three of the six districts as well as the Hanseatic city of Rostock had fewer than 50 infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week and thus met the requirement.

If the incidence is between 50 and 100, according to the phased plan, regular operation should be continued, but under stricter hygiene regulations.

This includes hourly burst ventilation, keeping contact lists, singing and sports are restricted, parents are only allowed to enter the daycare in exceptional situations.

With an incidence of 100 to 150, parents are asked - as is currently the case - to look after the children at home if possible.

With values of more than 150, daycare centers only provide emergency care in cases of particular hardship.

This is currently the case in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, where the seven-day incidence on Friday was 188.

In the event that particularly contagious virus variants increasingly occur in a region, there should only be emergency care there.

According to the ministry, around 114,000 children are enrolled in daycare centers or child minders across the country.

For about half of them, care was taken in the past few weeks.
