“The global goal of this call for proposals is to support and empower civil society to protect and promote democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms,” the document states.

Grant recipients are expected to work to empower youth and women, increase media literacy in Kyrgyzstan, develop freedom of expression by promoting the free flow of information, and counter hate speech in the media.

It follows from the tender documents that the total budget of the initiative is € 1 million, the size of one grant may vary from € 300,000 to € 500,000.

Non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations can apply for participation in the competitive selection.
