Munich (dpa) - The Unitex purchasing association with 800 affiliated fashion retailers has announced urgent applications against the extended lockdown.

"We are in the process of submitting an urgent application to reopen the retail trade in Bavaria," said Unitex marketing director Xaver Albrecht on Thursday in Neu-Ulm.

"Bavaria is the first step, other countries will follow."

The lockdown orders are a matter for the federal states.

The lockdowns are disproportionate because there is no evidence that the shops are corona hotspots, said Albrecht.

That is why Unitex is now taking action against this with the Frankfurt law firm Nieding + Barth.

Unitex is jointly financing the lawsuit with dealers.

In addition, Unitex is preparing a class action suit with the law firm for damages due to the forced closings of the shops in spring 2020 and since November 2020.
