The Central Electoral Board has urged the

Minister

of the Interior, Miquel Sàmper, to guarantee the security of Vox's acts in Catalonia with all the necessary measures to avoid the violent episodes that especially took place during the first week.

In this sense, it demands that the security forces proceed to arrest those who use violence to prevent the party from campaigning normally.

The pronouncement of the Central Electoral Board comes in a resolution made public this Thursday after Vox denounced the attacks suffered, among other places, in Vic (Barcelona) and Salt (Gerona), where the protesters threw objects at politicians and supporters and in those who also destroyed some of their vehicles.

In addition to the courts, Vox also decided to file a complaint with the Central Electoral Board against what it considered a "lack of protection" by the Mossos for allowing the protesters to stand within twenty meters of their acts, as well as for not proceeding to disperse them when they attacked them by throwing stones, eggs or fruit.

The Central Electoral Board has verified that Vox has suffered "acts of intimidation and violence" during this campaign and that this has meant a "violation of the rights enshrined in articles 21 and 23 of the Constitution, and also the right to equality of all the candidates that, in accordance with the provisions of article 8.1 of the LOREG, must be guaranteed by the electoral administration ".

After analyzing the police reports, the Central Electoral Board underlines that despite the "important security devices" deployed by the Mossos, "which have prevented or reduced the damage of these violent actions," that "has not prevented these electoral acts were held in an environment of coercion contrary "to the exercise of political participation.

Consequently, in a resolution, it urges the

Minister

of the Interior of the Generalitat of Catalonia, as the competent authority in matters of public order, to adopt "all the necessary measures that allow the celebration of public acts of the electoral campaign of Vox and of any other political formation, avoiding violent or intimidating actions such as those denounced ".

In this sense, and this is another criticism made by Vox, it is claimed that "they proceed to identify and, where appropriate, arrest and bring to justice those who use the use of violence to prevent such acts."

From the Generalitat, the

Minister

of the Interior accused Vox of not following the instructions of the Mossos while the Government spokesperson,

Meritxell Budó

, pointed out that Vox had mounted a campaign of "provocations."

Given the look that violence and harassment had acquired during the past weekend, on Monday there was an emergency meeting of the police officers with Vox that has produced some changes in the location of the protesters.

They are further apart now.

However, that is not being followed in all places where rallies have been held.

Today in Tortosa (Tarragona), Santiago Abascal has denounced that the protesters were "15 steps" from his lectern, allowing the independentists to sabotage his campaign act.

The Central Electoral Board claims that the right to assembly of all the candidates that are presented in the elections must be guaranteed and so it is notified to both the Generalitat and the Government Delegate in Catalonia, as well as the Provincial Electoral Boards.
