Emmanuel Macron, who came to Nantes to defend the promotion of equal opportunities in the senior civil service, presented the new “Talents” path reserved for young people from modest origins or from disadvantaged neighborhoods.

They will have a few places at the ENA and in four other schools for senior officials.

We have to build new models.

This is what Emmanuel Macron promised, Thursday morning, traveling to Nantes.

The very concrete objective of the Head of State is to help young people from modest backgrounds to become civil servants or senior civil servants.

For this, the President of the Republic has confirmed the creation, for example, of 1,000 additional places of preparation for future public officials.

These young people will receive a scholarship of 4,000 euros and will then have the opportunity to access the grandes écoles of the administration on dedicated quotas.

The ENA promotions will, for example, be increased by six places reserved for these young people.

A (also) political issue for Emmanuel Macron

"The nation falls apart if there is no equal opportunity," Emmanuel Macron said.

For him, the stake is to add a brick in his edifice of fight against inequalities.

"A necessity for our country", according to the Élysée.

A necessity also for Emmanuel Macron, who has not always succeeded in convincing since 2017 that equal opportunities were always at the heart of his political project.

On Friday, the Head of State will also continue his “equal opportunities” agenda by kicking off the “Anti Discrimination” platform he announced in December, which will make it possible to report cases of discrimination by Internet and by telephone, at 3928. Managed by the Defender of Rights and Associations, it will include around ten specialized lawyers.
