Augsburg (dpa / lby) - The Swabian Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) admitted irregularities in vaccinations in their own nursing homes on Thursday.

The “Augsburger Allgemeine” had previously reported that information had been manipulated in AWO homes in Augsburg so that two life partners received vaccinations from home managers.

The two people affected were reported as employees, although they did not work in the facilities.

In response to inquiries about these cases, the AWO did not respond specifically, but "obviously unacceptable changes in the specified sequence" had occurred in the vaccinations.

The AWO Board of Directors will examine this "and bring about consequences if necessary," it says in a statement.

The chairman of the AWO regional association had previously emphasized that it was to be disapproved of if vaccinations were obtained fraudulently in the manner described.

"I expect that the regulations will be complied with in every way for vaccinations in AWO homes in cooperation with the responsible vaccination doctors," said Bavaria's AWO boss Thomas Beyer.
