Bad Langensalza (dpa) - The handball players of the Thuringian HC celebrated their third home win in a row in the Bundesliga.

Against the table penultimate FSV Mainz 05, the team of coach Herbert Müller prevailed on Wednesday evening after a dominant performance in the second half with 38:18 (15:10).

Backcourt player Marketa Jerabkova was the THC's best thrower with nine hits.

The Thuringians started with a swing and after ten minutes already led 7: 3, but then increasingly adapted to the level of the opponent.

The hosts came out of the break with significantly increased intensity, led in double digits for the first time after 41 minutes (24:14) and then increased into a game frenzy that the Mainz women had nothing to counter.
