They will have one year to find work after studies.

Now six months apply.

They must also be allowed to include study funds on a part-time basis as support.

The Government also proposes that so-called employment with a vocational introduction should be able to give the right to a permanent residence permit.

The Government justifies the proposals, which are to be temporary reliefs in the Upper Secondary School Act, by saying that the situation on the labor market has become more severe during the pandemic and that it is therefore more difficult to find work.

The details are not known in the proposal because the government has so far only sent out a brief press release, late on Tuesday evening.

The memorandum that the government states has been sent out for consultation is not yet available on the government's website.

The amendments to the law are proposed to enter into force on 20 July 2021 and apply until the end of June 2023.

L and C say no

Minister for Migration Morgan Johansson (SocDem) announced the proposals as early as the beginning of October, but then also said that the proposals would be ready to be sent out for consultation shortly.

Both the Center Party and the Liberals say they are against the changes.

- Our starting point is that people who are granted asylum applications and have protection needs may stay in Sweden, but people who in all instances have their asylum applications rejected must be prepared to leave Sweden.

We can not issue exceptions for exceptions for certain specific groups, says the Liberals' migration policy spokesman Fredrik Malm.

The Center Party refers to a debate article in Aftonbladet from November last year, where it is written that they will vote no to the proposal.

SVT Nyheter has asked the government for a comment.
