(Walking to the grassroots level during the New Year) Taiqing’s "encircling the furnace" talks homely: there is also a taste for Chinese New Year in place

China News Service, Wenzhou, February 10 (Reporter Pan Qinwen) The twenty-ninth of the lunar calendar is the New Year’s Eve in Taiwan. On the 10th, some Taiwanese who celebrated the New Year in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, gathered together to "enclose the furnace" to play games and talk about family. Celebrate the New Year’s Eve together and welcome the upcoming Spring Festival.

The Spring Festival is approaching, and because the time and economic cost of returning to Taiwan for the New Year are relatively high, many Lu Taiqing choose to celebrate the New Year in situ.

Zhong Zhenzhong is one of them.

He came to the mainland from Taiwan in 2012. He is a teacher and entrepreneur at Zhejiang Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Trade. He currently lives in Wenzhou with his wife and children of three.

The original plan was that he would travel on the mainland with his wife and children this Spring Festival, but the plan has now come to nothing.

Since many Taiwanese youths do not return home, why not get together during the Spring Festival?

After discussing with his wife, he asked in the chat group of Wenzhou Taiwanese teachers and Taiwanese businessmen he knew well, and some Taiwanese youths responded immediately.

Taiqing celebrated the Chinese New Year in Wenzhou in situ.

"Many Taiwanese teachers in Wenzhou stay alone for the New Year, while Taiwanese businessmen have many small families. At parties, adults chat and children play with their friends." Zhong Zhenzhong said, "New Year's Eve, maybe Some people want to get together in a small family, or "cloud get together" with family members far away in Taiwan, so they set the party on the New Year's Eve."

But the venue has become a problem.

Dining out is inconvenient, and the gathering of people at home is too close. In order to strictly comply with the local epidemic prevention and control regulations, after communication, Zhong Zhenzhong decided to move the party to the classroom.

He said: "We arranged the classroom tables and chairs aside to make enough room for gatherings. There are also projectors and other equipment in the classroom, which can be used for film and television projections and can be connected to game consoles to play games."

According to the customs in Taiwan, it is necessary to "enclose the furnace" to keep the year old on New Year's Eve.

For this small New Year’s Eve dinner, Zhong Zhenzhong and his friends agreed to eat hot pot, prepare enough ingredients, and then order a hot pot takeaway. It’s steaming, and it’s also considered a "fire pot."

Taiqing Xu Jinming attended the appointment that night.

"It was the first time to celebrate the New Year in Wenzhou. The last time I spent Chinese New Year in Mainland China was when I was studying in Beijing. I didn't go home to write my doctoral dissertation. I just called my family to pay a New Year greeting." He said frankly, "This time because of the epidemic. If you can’t go back, the Taiwanese youths who stayed in Wenzhou for the New Year also have a “revolutionary friendship” like family members. Everyone is busy with work. This is a rare opportunity to get together."

This time staying on the mainland again for the New Year is also a work requirement.

Xu Jinming said: "As far as I know, the epidemic prevention and isolation time between the two sides of the strait is relatively long, so I don't want to delay work because of this. Moreover, the network communication is so developed now that the distance between space is shortened.

"The Spring Festival is a big holiday, and I really want to be reunited with our family, but no matter where we are, our heart is always with our family." On weekdays, Xu Jinming often communicates with his family through the Internet and tells them that he has a great development in the mainland. Well, everything goes well.

Unlike the lively New Year's Eve, Taiqing Xu Yufei, who works in Dongtou, Wenzhou, chose to spend this evening alone.

But on the New Year’s Eve of the 30th lunar calendar, she will go to the homes of colleagues who celebrate the New Year in the same place.

"Our company's non-local employees plan to hug together to keep warm. I brought Taiwan sorghum wine, and my colleagues with good cooking skills will show off and bring their hometown dishes. We are also going to watch the Spring Festival Gala and play board games." Although there is no family company, I have regrets in my heart, but spending the New Year with friends is also a new experience.

During the Spring Festival, Xu Yufei, who likes to watch dramas and read books, said that she might “stay at home”.

In previous years, when she returned home for the New Year, she would go to the temple with her family to pray for blessings and visit relatives and friends. "Stay at home" is the first time for the New Year. "But maybe on a good day, she would also make an appointment with friends, or go to other places in Wenzhou alone. Look at the scenery and feel the humanistic customs."

For Taiqing who stayed in the mainland to celebrate the New Year, whether it is a group of people or a single person, the Spring Festival is still delicious.
