Leipzig (dpa) - RB Leipzig's summer newcomer Josko Gvardiol is already intensely in the mood for the time at the Saxon Bundesliga club.

The Croatian defender from Dinamo Zagreb, who has signed a five-year contract, gave an insight into how the cooperation with RB is already working in the Croatian “A1 Football Podcast”.

The "Leipziger Volkszeitung" reported on it (Wednesday).

According to this, the 18-year-old received an app from the Saxons on which regular video clips of his achievements with instructions and tips for improvements can be found.

In addition, RB employees would visit him to go through possible game scenarios and explain to him what role he would play in various lineups.

Gvardiol has already been signed by RB to replace Dayot Upamecano.

The Frenchman is likely to leave the club in the summer.

In addition to Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea FC, with German coaches Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel, are said to have their sights on the brawny central defender of Leipzig.

Gvardiol had opted for RB, although Leeds United, with Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa, also had a strong interest in the extremely talented defensive specialist.

“In the end, I decided on the club that best supports me in my development and takes me further,” said Gvardiol, who says he is already learning German intensively.
