Los Angeles (AP) - There
will be none of the coveted Oscar awards
for the film "And tomorrow the whole world" by
the German director Julia von Heinz.
The German entry was eliminated from the preselection in the race for the so-called foreign Oscar.
According to information from the Film Academy in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon (local time), 15 of a total of 93 countries made it to the next round with their submissions, including “Der Rausch” (Denmark), “La Llorona” (Guatemala), “We both” / "Two Of Us" (France) and "Night of the Kings" (Ivory Coast).
In the competition for the trophy in the “International Feature Film” category, Academy members first made the shortlist preselection.
In the end, five candidates are chosen.
Oscar nominations in all categories will be announced on March 15th.

The award is due to take place on April 25, later than usual due to the corona pandemic.
