Culture Minister Roselyne Bachelot said she was opposed on Wednesday to the introduction of a vaccine passport to enter cultural places, without setting dates for the reopening of museums.

"I remain opposed to the vaccine passport which seems to me an attack on our freedoms. The lover of freedoms that I am has difficulty in imagining it! If we arrived there, it would be a step back", underlined the Minister, interviewed in Télématin on France 2.

Reacting to the reopening by the RN mayor of Perpignan, Louis Aliot, of four museums in the city, the minister disapproved of what is contrary to "respect for the republican principle. It is all the same curious that the mayor does not respect the laws of the Republic and does not apply the rules to itself, ”she observed.

In addition, questioned again on a timetable for the reopening of museums, Ms. Bachelot reaffirmed that "it" is still too early to set a precise date "and that this reopening will be" a continuous decline "in contamination figures" which is not yet stabilized ".

For next summer's festivals, Ms. Bachelot made a point of making the difference between that of Aix-en-Provence, for example, which is held in "a performance hall", and "standing festivals which pose a problem".

Because, in these, there is "a mass of population of several thousand people and sanitary conditions more difficult to implement".

"I am working with these festival organizers, be it Hellfest, the Vieilles charrues, the Eurockéennes to see how we can ensure the safety of spectators and people on and around the stage. It is a very substantial job. , with tests at the entrance: how to implement them, how to finance them ... "

"I am also working on a support fund for these festivals, so that, whatever happens, the festival model is protected," said Ms. Bachelot.
