Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - A man accused before the Frankfurt Regional Court has denied serious mistreatment of his former partner.

The trial against the 32-year-old, which began on Wednesday, is about two cases.

The man is said to have taped the woman in November 2019 after a doctor's visit in downtown Frankfurt and injured her on the street with an electric shock device.

In March of last year there was said to have been a second attack in the woman's apartment, in which the accused scalded his victim with hot water and burned him with a lighter.

During an apartment search, the police found several prohibited weapons and 50 grams of heroin.

According to the expertise of an expert, the man's guilt capacity is at least limited.

While the public prosecutor's office advocates placement in a psychiatric ward, the man denied all allegations on the first day of the trial.

The criminal chamber has scheduled three more trial days until the end of February.

Among other things, the victim should also be heard on the witness stand.
