Doha (AP) - Ex-national player Jérôme Boateng from FC Bayern Munich is leaving the Club World Cup in Qatar for private reasons.

Coach Hansi Flick announced this on Wednesday without going into details.

“Of course that took us all away.

Jérôme came to my room and asked me to go home, ”said Flick.

Of course, they agreed to that.

After a corona test, the defender will travel to Germany, said Flick.

According to Flick, Boateng (32) will not be available to the German record champions "until further notice".

The final of the Club World Cup on Thursday (7 p.m. / DAZN and Bild Live) against outsider Tigres UANL will be contested by the Munich team without Boateng.
