SVT has asked over 100 high school students across the country about how they have experienced the time with distance education.

More than half answer that they have learned less than they usually do.

Minister of Education Anna Ekström says that this does not surprise her, as the results of the survey are completely in line with her own experiences and European experiences of teleworking.

- One thing we have learned is that it is tough with distance education, says Anna Ekström and adds:

- There is no doubt that students who go to high school have been given tougher conditions for learning a lot in school.

Wants to allow weekend and holiday tuition

Anna Ekström states that this is something that the government follows very closely and that they try to do what they can to ensure that students can close any knowledge gaps in the best way.

These include increasing the opportunities for municipal adult education, that students can postpone a course until the next semester and to allow weekend and holiday teaching so that students can read in what they missed during the summer holidays.

- This is something that we do not usually allow in school, but which we allow during the pandemic because we know that students can get into trouble otherwise, says Anna Ekström.
