A terrible assault took place on Saturday at 9.15 p.m. on Place Charles Hernu in Villeurbanne (Rhône), in the Lyon metropolitan area.

A pregnant woman was indeed pulled by the hair, thrown to the ground and then hit by her partner.

Falling on her stomach, she felt severe pain.

She managed to take refuge in a nearby hotel, while the defendant, a 31-year-old Villeurbanne, fled.

The victim was then taken care of by the fire brigade and taken to hospital.

The next day, the police arrested the suspect at his home.

Placed in custody and interviewed, he denied the facts.

He was presented to the Lyon court on Tuesday for immediate appearance.

The 30-year-old was sentenced to a 12-month suspended prison sentence.
