Two deaths and three injured, including one in absolute urgency: this is the result of the crash of a civilian helicopter that occurred on the heights of Courchevel, the gendarmes and the prefecture of Savoie announced on Tuesday.

The helicopter had taken off from Courchevel at 3:41 p.m. with five people on board and crashed "between the sectors of Lac de la Rosière and Dent du Villard, at an altitude of 1,900 meters", the prefecture wrote in a statement. .

The alert given after 5 p.m. by a witness

"The provisional report, at 6.30 p.m., shows two dead people, one person in absolute urgency and two people in relative urgency," added the prefecture, adding that "the alert was given around 5:20 pm by a witness who saw the helicopter fall and then smoke ”.

The seriously injured person was taken by helicopter to Grenoble hospital, the other two were transported to Albertville hospital.

The sub-prefect of Albertville Christophe Heriard maintained this assessment at around 9:30 p.m., without being able to give more information on the identity of the victims or the circumstances of the accident.

The Sater plan triggered

The first aid, firefighters and high mountain gendarmerie platoon (PGHM), arrived on site around 6 p.m., and the SATER plan, which aims to search for air accident victims, was triggered.

The investigation was entrusted to the research section of the air transport gendarmerie, and Albertville prosecutor Anne Gaches went there.
