Koblenz (dpa) - During a raid in the Eifel and Bavaria, investigators dug up a drug shop on the Darknet.

During the searches in eight apartments and a warehouse, three of the eight accused were arrested on Monday and drugs with an estimated sales value of over 250,000 euros were seized, as the Koblenz Public Prosecutor announced on Tuesday.

The investigators have been investigating the alleged gang for about a year.

This was targeted by the main customs offices in Gießen and Frankfurt / Main, as more than 180 drug shipments for other European countries had been detected and seized in letter centers.

These included a total of more than ten kilograms of amphetamines and a good 7,900 ecstasy tablets.

According to the Koblenz Public Prosecutor's Office, several main suspects are said to have been members of a gang in a good 1400 cases in drug trafficking.

They are said to have procured the drug in the Netherlands, for example, and resold it for profit via various darknet marketplaces.

For this they would have used the world's largest illegal Darknet sales platform DarkMarket, which was recently shut down.
