Altenstadt (dpa / lby) - A 77-year-old who shot his neighbor in Swabia with a revolver has been taken to a psychiatric clinic.
At the request of the Memmingen public prosecutor's office, a placement order had been issued against the man from Altenstadt (Neu-Ulm district), the police said on Tuesday.
It is now known that the 77-year-old was not authorized to own the weapon.
According to the police, the origin of the revolver is still unknown.
The 65-year-old neighbor was seriously injured on Monday by a shot in the courtyard of a residential building.
