Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The presidium of the Hamburger SV eV with Marcell Jansen at the top has not agreed on a date for an extraordinary general meeting.

The meeting should deal with the motion of all the association's committees to vote out Jansen's vice-president Thomas Schulz.

“Implementing an extraordinary general meeting at the current time poses great challenges for the association, which could not be finally clarified in all points within the period of three weeks,” announced the Presidium on Tuesday.

It also said: "It is therefore necessary in the interests of the association to hold further discussions."

The Presidium is “in a constructive and good exchange with the committees, especially with the Honorary Council”.

According to the provisions of the statutes, the presidium should have agreed by Tuesday to call an extraordinary general meeting.

This should have taken place digitally in the next three weeks.

There has been a dispute in the HSV leadership for months.

Schulz and Treasurer Moritz Schaefer have different views than the former national soccer player Jansen (35) on important issues.

Among other things, this involves the candidates for the Supervisory Board of the Fußball-AG and the possible sale of further shares.

Several HSV committees are said to have backed Jansen.

On January 19, the HSV honorary council and other association bodies expressed mistrust to Schulz and assumed that he was not making decisions in the best interests of the association.

Schulz had rejected this.

The honorary council and the other committees submitted a motion to vote against the vice and requested an extraordinary general meeting.

This should take place no later than six weeks after submitting the application.
