It was around 7 pm that a patrol guard found a suspected car thief in a garage on Södermalm.
The guard intervened but the suspect responded by driving and the guard was hit in connection with it.
- The guard pressed his assault alarm after he was backed up, says Eva Nilsson, the police's spokesperson.
Investigated as attempted aggravated assault
The driver then drove from the scene but the car was later found on Södermalm.
In connection with this, the police searched for the suspect with dog patrols, but at 9 pm no one was arrested.
The surveillance cameras in the garage where the guard was hit will also be checked.
The guard should not have had to seek medical attention, but the incident is being investigated as an attempt at aggravated assault.
