Leipzig (dpa / sn) - A fire broke out on Tuesday in an apartment building in the east of Leipzig.
The fire brigade took several people out of the house, said a police spokeswoman.
There was initially no information on possible injuries.
A citizen had reported the fire in the five-story building.
The fire broke out in the stairwell for an unknown cause.
When the fire brigade arrived, it was already completely on fire.
Because of the extinguishing work, the nearby Eisenbahnstraße was completely closed.
