Munich / Berlin (dpa) - The German double winner Alba Berlin will tackle his title defense in the national basketball cup in Munich in mid-April.
As the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) announced on Tuesday, FC Bayern will remain the host for the so-called Top Four on April 17 and 18.
Originally, the tournament should have taken place in Munich at the beginning of November.
However, it had to be postponed due to positive corona tests at Alba Berlin.
Alba will face the BG Göttingen in the semifinals in the Audi Dome on April 17th.
The Lower Saxony had defeated the team of coach Aito Garcia Reneses last in early February with 86:75.
In the second semifinals, ratiopharm Ulm and hosts FC Bayern face each other.
The final rises a day later.
The 29th matchday originally planned for the weekend has been postponed.
«We are delighted to be able to build on the success of the final tournament last summer together with FC Bayern Munich, in order to award the first title of the season in Munich.
I am sure that we will see spectacular and exciting basketball games, ”said BBL managing director Stefan Holz.
