Brackley (AP) - Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has extended his contract with Mercedes for this season.
“We always agreed with Lewis that we would move on together.
But the extremely unusual year 2020 meant that it took a while to complete the process, ”said Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff.
Hamilton switched to the Silver Arrows for the 2013 season as the successor to Michael Schumacher.
The 36-year-old, who won his seventh world title in the preseason, was the only driver from the current field of drivers without a contract for 2021.

"A crucial part of the new agreement builds on the shared commitment to greater diversity and inclusion in motorsport that Lewis and Mercedes made last year," it said.
This will take place in the form of a joint, non-profit foundation, which aims to support more inclusion and diversity in all its forms in motorsport.
