A retired farmer was tried Friday before the Rennes Criminal Court for having authorized the organization of a rave party on his land, reports

The illegal party, which gathered more than 200 participants, took place on the night of October 26 to 27, 2019 in Bréal-sous-Vitré, a town located on the border of Ille-et-Vilaine and Mayenne.

Due to the sound volume, residents had not slept overnight and fourteen complaints had been recorded.

A cow from a neighboring farm also had to be euthanized because of stress, the daily said.

Absent from the hearing, the 76-year-old former farmer was sentenced to two months in prison.
