The new President of the Presidency Council in Libya, Muhammad Yunus Al-Manfi, received phone calls from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, French Emmanuel Macron, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, amid continued welcome for Libyan political parties to form a unified transitional authority.

French President Manuel Macron welcomed the new executive authority in Libya.

A Libyan foreign ministry source said that Macron telephoned the new president of the Presidency Council, Muhammad Yunus, who had been exiled, and invited him to visit Paris, and assured him of France's support for Libya to get out of its crisis.

Earlier, the European Union welcomed the election of the interim executive authority in Libya.

This came in statements by the representative of foreign affairs in the European Union Josep Borrell.

Borrell said that the Union and its member states welcome the agreement reached by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum regarding a unified transitional executive authority in Libya.

The European official confirmed their readiness to work with the new president of the Presidency Council, Muhammad Yunus Al-Manfi, and the new Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba.

And he stressed the need to expedite the formation of a new comprehensive government that works for national reconciliation and unification of the country.

Borrell also called on the Libyan parties and the international community to support the interim executive authority in Libya for the sake of the country's stability.

And he called for the necessity of the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Libya, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

In the same context, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a phone call to the exile, and assured him of Turkey's support for Libya in the economic and military fields for the sake of the country's stability.

As for the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he also made a phone call to the exile, and assured him of his country's readiness to open its embassy in Tripoli.

The new government undertakes

The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum was elected in Geneva last Friday, Muhammad Yunus Al-Manfi as Chairman of the Presidential Council, and Abdel-Hamid Muhammad Al-Dabaiba as Prime Minister.

The new prime minister has pledged to work to bring peace between the parties in the country and solve the major problems they face.

In an interview with Anadolu Agency, Abd al-Hamid Muhammad al-Dabaiba said that the Forum for Political Dialogue was formed from all parts of Libya, and that it represents all geography, tribes and segments of the Libyan people.

He pointed out that the members of the Forum took a decision in favor of Libya and its people, and that this decision is important for the peaceful, democratic and free change in the country.

Dabaiba revealed that within the framework of the decisions taken in the political dialogue, the government will be formed after 3 weeks, after which it will be presented for the approval of the Libyan Parliament.

In response to a question about the possibility of appointing figures from the previous government, he said, "It is possible that, as we will be a technocratic government, and whoever has proven his effectiveness, seriousness and strength in performance will be part of the government team."
