China News Service, Fuzhou, February 8th (Reporter Long Min) The sudden new crown pneumonia epidemic has also affected Taiwan-funded enterprises in the mainland.

Expanding the domestic demand market has not only become a pragmatic choice for enterprises in Fujian and Taiwan to overcome the "epidemic", but also a point of force for seeking greater and broader development.

Wu Jiaying, chairman of the Xiamen Taiwan-Invested Enterprise Association, pointed out that many export-oriented Taiwan-funded enterprises encountered many problems such as chargebacks, difficulties in delivery, and difficulties in receiving orders last year.

When exports are blocked, Taiwanese enterprises, with the support of the mainland's policies, are deeply plowing the mainland's domestic demand market, which will help Taiwanese enterprises to tide over the crisis.

Last year, the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce planned and promoted Taiwan-funded enterprises to expand domestic sales online promotion and docking (Fujian's first) event, 100 Taiwan-funded enterprises and more than 200 mainland-funded enterprises were effectively matched more than 1,000 times, reaching an intention to sign a contract amount of nearly 1 billion Yuan (RMB, the same below).

Want Want Fujian Quanzhou Factory signed a cooperation agreement worth 38 million yuan with local enterprises during the event.

Lin Tianliang, chief representative of Want Want Group Beijing, believes that some Taiwanese companies that are mainly engaged in export sales have few channels for domestic sales in mainland China before. Online promotion is very helpful for Taiwanese companies to expand the domestic market.

At the same time, there were more than 1,000 online exhibitors at the 4th Cross-Strait Food Fair, and the amount of intentional transactions reached 13.86 billion yuan on site, an increase of 28.6% year-on-year; the 13th Cross-Strait (Quanzhou) Agricultural Products Purchasing and Ordering Fair adopted "Online Tesco" + Offline shopping exhibition" interactive integration mode, 1063 online booths, 413 agreements and cooperation agreements reached on-site, with an intention of 1.61 billion yuan; the 14th Cross-Strait Tea Expo attracted more than 800 enterprises from both sides of the strait to participate, and passed the "cloud On the Tea Bo" platform, we connect global trade.

Observers believe that in the face of the adverse effects of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the successive holding of Taiwan-related economic and trade exhibitions has released goodwill, opening up the offline + online "dual-line integration" exhibition mode, and helping Taiwanese companies expand the domestic market.

Consumption is a strong engine driving economic growth. Fujian has promoted a number of "Tesco All Fujian·Taiwan Goods" promotion activities to reserve sufficient space for Taiwanese goods.

The "Cross-Strait Live FUN" National Day Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival was held in Dadeng Town, Xiamen, with nearly 20,000 visitors that day.

Fuqing Gaoshan Strait Commodity Trading Center held the "Tesco Tesco·Tesco Fuqing" Electronic Music Food Festival and the Taiwan Commodity Exhibition, which sold more than 3 million Taiwanese products on site.

The second session of the Expo will set up a "Taiwan, Penghu, Jinma, Boutique Exhibition Area", organizing 23 Taiwan-funded enterprises to participate in the exhibition of nearly 1,000 kinds of products, and selling Taiwanese specialty products more than 2 million yuan.

The epidemic has brought challenges to enterprises in Fujian and Taiwan, but it is also an opportunity for forced transformation.

Cai Jinde, general manager of Xiamen Taizu Foods Co., Ltd., who has been cultivating the mainland market for more than ten years, said that the epidemic is a crisis and an opportunity.

In view of the characteristics of the domestic demand market, Taizu Foods has developed small programs, opened an online store, and put more energy into product innovation.

In the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the mainland is accelerating the construction of a new development pattern with domestic and international cycles as the main body and mutual promotion of domestic and international cycles.

Huang Maoxing, dean of the School of Economics at Fujian Normal University, believes that expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption have long been viewed by Taiwanese companies that have focused on export sales as a new way to break through the predicament.

The domestic demand market has also strengthened the confidence of enterprises in Fujian and Taiwan, increasing capital and expanding production.

Statistics show that in 2020, Fujian will set up 1,233 Taiwan-funded projects, ranking first among all provinces and cities in the mainland; contracted Taiwanese capital is 23.6 billion yuan, an increase of 51.4% year-on-year, accounting for 25.6% of the province’s contractual foreign capital; actual use of Taiwanese capital is 3.52 billion yuan , Ranking third among provinces and cities in the mainland.

Fujian will build a channel for participation and support Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises to better integrate into the new development pattern.

Wang Ling, director of the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, said that Fujian will promote the successful experience of the promotion of "Taiwan-funded enterprises to expand domestic sales", and further support Taiwanese enterprises in integrating resources, expanding channels, building brands, participating in government procurement, state-owned enterprise production and marketing, and private enterprises. Convergence and sharing, as well as new infrastructure such as 5G, digital economy, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, Internet of Things, and key industrial development areas in Fujian Province, such as biotechnology, healthcare, and green energy.

Wang Ling also pointed out that Fujian will deepen the integration of advantageous industries between Fujian and Taiwan, guide and support Taiwanese enterprises to participate in the strengthening of the chain, to introduce business and Taiwan from Taiwan, and jointly build a digital industrial chain, cultural industrial chain, and ecological industrial chain in Fujian and Taiwan. Efforts to build a common cross-strait market, helping Taiwanese compatriots and Taiwanese enterprises seize new opportunities, integrate into the new pattern, and share new dividends.
