China News Service, February 7th. According to the Tolo News television station in Afghanistan, the Taliban warned on the 5th that if the United States violates the Doha Agreement, they will take more violent actions.

A few days ago, a bipartisan research team appointed by the US Congress called on the Biden administration to slow down the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, cancel the May 1 deadline, and reduce the number of troops when the security situation in Afghanistan improves.

The U.S. government and the Taliban signed an agreement at the end of February 2020. The U.S. pledged to reduce the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan from approximately 13,000 to 8,600 within 135 days. The remaining U.S. and NATO soldiers will withdraw by May 2021.

The Taliban promised not to allow its members and members of other organizations, including al Qaeda, to use Afghanistan’s homeland to threaten the security of the United States and its allies.

The US Department of Defense spokesman Kirby previously stated that the Taliban had failed to fulfill its commitment to sever ties with terrorist organizations and stop attacks on Afghan security forces.

He said that it is difficult to see a way out through negotiations to resolve the issue.

According to reports, the Taliban stated that this move will have serious consequences and that the United States will be responsible for the future escalation.

The Taliban stated in a statement on February 5 local time that "if the Doha Agreement is abolished, this will lead to a major war."

The Taliban emphasized that violating the agreement will not benefit the Americans and Afghans.

Peace talks between Afghanistan and the Taliban are currently stalled, and violence in the country is also frequent.

The Afghan Ministry of Defense reported on the 5th that government forces and the Taliban were fighting in at least 20 provinces within 24 hours.
