Eight days and a week before the coup d'etat in Myanmar, a large rally was held in Tokyo seeking the release of detained state counselors Aung San Suu Kyi.

According to the organizer, about 5,000 people, mainly Burmese people living in Japan, participated in the rally held in front of the Myanmar Embassy in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo.

Participants put up a photo of Aung San Suu Kyi and a piece of paper with the words "Save Myanmar = Save Myanmar" and said "Free Suu Kyi" or "The military government does not admit." And so on.

A Myanmar student woman said, "In Myanmar, the Internet has been shut down and what we can do is limited. We want the international community, including Japan, to help us."

Another Myanmar man said, "I'm sorry to bother the Japanese people by holding a rally in this way, but if we don't move now, it will be a big loss to the future of Myanmar. Thank you for your cooperation. I want to do it. "

One of the organizers, Min Sui, said, "I want to tell people in Myanmar that we, who live abroad, are also fighting together."
