Lille regained the lead in Ligue 1 by winning 2-0 Sunday at La Beaujoire, thanks to a brace from Jonathan David, against Nantes now barrage after this 15th game without a win.

Overtaken Saturday by Lyon, the Lille had to win to also remain safe from a return from PSG.

Mission accomplished, with a 6th straight victory and a 4th game without conceding a single goal.

Nantes, dams since Lorient took off on Saturday, did not expect miracles in the face of untenable Mastiffs, but not necessarily to have to run so much behind the ball either.

In the first period, Lille largely dominated, with 70% possession of the ball and a first goal gift.

On a lost ball by Fabio, Jonathan Bamba sent a perfect cross.

At the reception, a disagreement between Imran Louza and Andrei Girotto allowed Jonathan David to shoot Alban Lafont with a shot flush with the left post (0-1, 10th).

The Canaries didn't give up, but they felt like they were running into the void, struggling to touch the ball or do anything with it.

Regularly late, they multiplied the gestures of frustrations to the point of seeing the referee Stéphanie Frappart warn three Nantes in three minutes after half an hour of play.

Relaunches directly in touch, misunderstandings on passes ... It was not until the 20th minute to see the Nantes in the Lille camp, for a meager booty: a center-shot above Charles Traoré (21st) or against Kolo -Muani / Blas aborted (45th).

Opposite, Lille unfolded, without however managing to kill the match, with a series of strikes from Bamba, Ikoné or even Celik nearby or across.

And in the second half, after a clear Lille opportunity on a Bradaric cross that David was a few centimeters away from pushing in the goal of Lafont (48th), the debates were slightly rebalanced.

Nantes were even close to equalizing a series of corners and a strike from Sébastien Corchia (75-77).

But on a new lost ball from Nantes, a one-two with Renato Sanches allowed Jonathan David to land a left strike in the top corner (0-2, 83rd).

After a difficult start, the young Canadian striker is now at 7 goals, including 5 in the last five matches.

For the first time in Nantes, recordings of supporters were shown in the stadium during the match, a process already used in other stadiums, with varying degrees of success.

In a press release the Ultras of the Loire Brigade were firmly opposed to it: without the closed session, the match "would have been the scene of songs against the Kita mafia rather than songs of support for a club which now only exists through his past".

"Waldemar Kita will finally be able to enjoy an atmosphere in his image: tasteless, counterfeit and above ground", they denounced.

As with every home match, dozens of supporters gathered near the stadium in peace before the match, to demand the departure of Kita, owner of the club since 2007.
