China News Service, February 7th. According to the Greek "China Greek Times" report, on February 6, local time, the National Public Health Organization of Greece announced that in the past 24 hours, there were 1113 new confirmed cases of new crown in Greece, with a total of more than 163,000 confirmed cases. ; There were 29 new deaths and the cumulative death was 5951.

In view of the epidemic situation, the Greek government has strengthened epidemic prevention measures in some areas; in addition, some experts believe that schools should resume classes under certain conditions.

Blockade measures in some areas "overweight"

On February 5, local time, experts from the Greek health department held an 8-hour meeting and finally decided to upgrade epidemic prevention measures in eight cities including Athens.

According to the report, at the February 5 meeting, experts pointed out that on the one hand, the surge in cases in certain areas has sounded the alarm; on the other hand, different areas have also taken local measures based on their own epidemiological data. .

What needs to be discussed is the division of three types of areas: red areas, hard-blocked areas, and areas that only take special blockade measures for weekends.

At the meeting, experts were divided into two groups.

One group believes that tough measures should be taken in areas where the burden is heavy and cases are growing rapidly; the other group believes that restrictive measures on weekends are sufficient.

In terms of the final measures taken, both of these options have been adopted.

In places such as Patras, San Nicolas, Santorini and Mykonos, where the number of cases is increasing exponentially, strong lockdowns have already begun; and in some critical but not overloaded areas, such as Athens and Thessa Loniki and Halkidiki only adopt restrictions for specific dates and time periods.

In addition, the meeting also spent more than three hours discussing epidemic prevention measures in the Attica Region.

Data shows that Attica's situation is very close to Patras (hard lockdown), but after considering the fatigue of the citizens and other effects that the capital may be affected by the hard lockdown, experts decided to start with reducing weekend social activities. .

At the same time, the Deputy Minister of the Protection of Citizens of Greece, Nicos Hardarias, stated that all epidemic prevention measures will face scrutiny every day.

Regarding the question of whether and when the school is closed, experts will also give appropriate answers at the right time.

A professor at the University of Western Attica, Vatobros, said that an important reason for the increasing number of cases is that Greece has not implemented any additional measures in the red zone.

Vatobros said, “We are trying to avoid the formation of the third wave of the epidemic, that is, to prevent the current rising trend before the situation gets out of control. Our bet is new measures.”

Capravelos, Director of the Second Intensive Care Unit of Papanikola Hospital, emphasized that the current strict lockdown is a step in the right direction.

Should schools be open?

Vatobros also mentioned the issue of whether schools should be open, and said that because the virus is less infectious to children, when children are in school, their conditions are more controlled than at home or in the park.

Regarding this issue, pediatrician Mazzanis also analyzed the virus infection data in the minor group and said that schools should be open, but the premise is that "there are very few children in the classroom."
