07 February 2021 "We need the utmost caution throughout the national territory. We must not undermine the progress of the last few weeks, the result of the sacrifices made so far. Yellow zone does not mean no danger. The virus is circulating and the risk, also due to the variations, remains high . We can't mess with fire. " This is the appeal of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, published on Facebook after the floods in the clubs and the gatherings in the cities on the first yellow Saturday in almost all regions.

First weekend in the yellow zone in many Italian regions and the gatherings are already worrying. Thanks to the good weather, a huge crowd poured into the streets of the center and the parks of Rome, many people also in Naples and Bergamo, where the mayor Giorgio Gori had to intervene with a video appeal who spoke of "stupid behavior".

Not even in Bari, orange, the walk in the center was given up. Same situation in Sicily, which is orange but looks yellow. The Palermitans took advantage of this window before the bad weather, expected for Sunday evening, and moved to the seaside villages. Lots of people in the center of Turin and also in the parks despite the gloomy day. What is worrying, however, is the amount of people who, regardless of the evening curfew, have reappeared in some areas of the city. In particular, critical situations are reported in the Vanchiglia area, a traditional meeting point.

Historic villas, parks and above all restaurants were the favorite destination of the Romans. The coast of Ostia is also full. Thousands of people flocked to the shopping streets and districts of the historic center, returning to lunch in restaurants. "At last we have very positive data, only today in Rome and its province restaurants have recorded about 5 million euros in receipts", said Claudio Pica, president of Fiepet-Confesercenti in Rome.

From 6pm the accesses to the Trident closed due to crowding. The councilor for health of the Lazio Region, Alessio D'Amato, asked for respect for the spacing and the use of the mask otherwise, he said "we will again be forced to apply restrictive measures".

In Naples this morning the seafront and shopping streets, from via Toledo to Chiaia in the center and from via Scarlatti to via Luca Giordano in the hilly area, were invaded by boyfriends, families and groups of friends out for a walk, intent on shopping or sitting at tables in bars, trattorias, pizzerias and restaurants. All or almost all with masks, perhaps lowered on the nose, but inevitably assembled. There were few checks around 1pm. In the center, hundreds of children in masks too. Even the Gran Caffé Gambrinus, closed since last November, has reopened.

In Milan despite the uncertain weather, many crowded the most central area of the capital, from Piazza Duomo to Corso Vittorio Emanuele, from Via Dante to the Castello Sforzesco. The shopping streets, such as Corso Buenos Aires, Corso Vercelli, Corso Garibaldi, were crowded, but not the shops: there were few lines and more often empty spaces. Nor did it go better in the so-called 'Quadrilatero della moda', from via Monte Napoleone to via della Spiga.

Generally very few crowds: queues only in front of some of the shops of the most famous fast food chains, bars and ice cream parlors. After two weeks in the orange zone, amid protests and controversies over a 'downgrading' deemed excessive, Sardinia will return to 'yellow' from Monday.
