The famous New York Yankees stadium in the United States has been operating since Friday, February 5 as a vaccination center against Covid-19, but it will be reserved for residents of the Bronx only to ensure that disadvantaged populations are not the last vaccinated.

The stadium of this legendary baseball team, itself located in the Bronx neighborhood, will vaccinate residents of this district, among the poorest in New York, by appointment, and at the highest rate of contagion in the city.

Vaccination figures released by City Hall on Sunday suggest that black and Latino populations have so far been under-represented among the more than 500,000 people already vaccinated.

To remedy the disparities, the city is committed to increasing the number of vaccination centers in the most affected neighborhoods, which are also the most disadvantaged.
