Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, more than 300,000 infections with the virus have been registered in Baden-Württemberg.

That comes from information from the State Health Office on Saturday.

From Friday to Saturday, the number of confirmed infections rose by 1,117 to 300,118. The number of deaths rose by 19 to 7,400. 269,958 people are considered to have recovered, 1702 more than the previous day.

The information on those who have recovered are estimates.

In the meantime, five urban and rural districts in Baden-Württemberg have an incidence of 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

The day before there were three.

According to the information, the district of Calw (104.9), the Hohenlohe district (128.7), the Ortenau district (111.4), the district of Waldshut (117.5) and the city of Heilbronn (116.1) are located above this.

Nationwide, the incidence is 60.5.

According to the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 348 corona patients in Baden-Württemberg were in intensive care units, 207 of them artificially ventilated.

Around 87 percent of the 2,449 operable intensive care beds are occupied, it said.

270,837 people in the southwest received their first vaccination against the coronavirus.

96,184 people are vaccinated for the second time (as of Saturday, 0.15 a.m.).

That was 9507 (first vaccination) and 6537 (second vaccination) more than the day before.

Because there is currently a lack of vaccine, fewer people are being vaccinated.
