Freilassing (dpa / lby) - Significantly more participants came to a demonstration against the legally prescribed anti-corona measures in Freilassing on Saturday than expected by the organizer.

A spokesman for the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South could not initially name the exact number of participants, but "there are certainly more than 1000 people".

The group "BGL stands up" had registered 200 participants for the demo at the border crossing at the Saalach bridge.

"Now we have to create the framework for this to happen," said the spokesman.

The start of the event under the motto “For limitless self-determination” will therefore be postponed until all requirements such as mask requirements and minimum distances are met.

Nevertheless, according to the police, there was initially no anger or aggression among the participants.
