Dresden (dpa) - The “Epaulette” special commission has so far received over 1,600 reports in connection with the theft of jewels from the Green Vault at the end of November 2019 in Dresden.

235 of them were used to search for the twins from the well-known Arab-born Remmo family from Berlin.

One of the two 21-year-olds was caught in mid-December 2020, there is still no trace of his brother, as a spokesman for the Dresden public prosecutor said.

He is still being searched for at high pressure.

During the spectacular break-in of the Treasury Museum on November 25, 2019, the perpetrators stole historical jewelery made of diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds of hardly any value.

Less than a year later, the police in Berlin arrested three suspects from the clan, and the twin brothers managed to escape.

So far, none of the four urgent suspects in pre-trial detention who are accused of serious gang theft and arson have spoken out.

There is still no trace of the stolen jewelry from the 17th and 18th centuries, said the prosecutor's spokesman.

Nevertheless, the public prosecutor is “still confident that they can clarify the whereabouts of the loot”.
